KRUTZ 400 Series 5-Star Fiddle
The KRUTZ 400 Series 5-Star Fiddle provides a great deal of performance in a small package. The body is the same size as a 4/4 violin, with internal changes to make it function well as a five-string. The sound is a lot more than one would expect from such a small package. The antiqued finish is exceptional, and worthy of a far more expensive instrument. The KRUTZ 400 Series 5-Star fiddle normally comes equipped with Helicore strings and a Wittner composite tailpiece with integral fine tuners. 5Star Performer Fiddles raise the bar for student level instruments. They are carefully constructed to our specifications in our affiliated shop in Beijing. KRUTZ craftsmen travel there regularly to control quality. This ensures a fine appearance, warm sound and easy playability. Upon arrival at our Kansas City workshop, they are given a professional set-up by our craftsmen. These fiddles produce a higher tonal quality at a more competitive price.
Set-Up: Seasoned spruce top; Seasoned maple back, ribs and scroll; Highly flamed; inlaid purfling; Acoustically enhanced wood sealer; Antique oil varnish; Ebony or boxwood fittings; D’Addario Helicore strings; composite tailpiece w/5 fine tuners. Bridge, pegs, fingerboard, nut and soundpost assembled, dressed, fitted and tonally adjusted in our Kansas City workshop.
