We hope everyone is having a great start to the year! We loved ending 2018 by awarding three $50 K.C. Strings gift certificate to three different clients who shared a picture with us on their social media for the #KCStringsHolidayPrize contest. Thank you to everyone who shared a photo or a story. We had a wonderful time seeing them and sharing the joy of the holiday season!
To start off 2019, we want to share a little bit about one of the winners who bought his double bass from us 25 years ago (right at the start of K.C. Strings)... |

NAME: Joshua Pickenpaugh
What instrument do you play: Double Bass by Meinel (German), 7/8 size.
What is your favorite thing about your bass: Very sturdy, great sound! It's been a great bass for me over the years, extremely weather tolerant, as well (it's spent time with me in Colorado and Chicago, never any problems!).
Profession: Worked for 15 years in the cruise industry as a bass player. Now performing on the weekend in Wichita. |

Advice from the Professionals

It is all too easy to lose one's bow because of not taking good care of it. Here are four "MUSTS" for taking care of the bow!
1. Always loosen the bow before you put it in the case. 2. Never over tighten the bow. 3. Learn how to properly rosin your bow. 4. Never touch the bow hair with your bare hands.
